Senator Ron Wyden Public Appearance

Today Friday October 3 at 12:30 Senator Ron Wyden will be at Willamette University together with U.S. House Candidate Kurt Schrader, Oregon State Senator and candidate for Treasurer, Ben Westlund and State Rep. Candidate Richard Riggs.

Senator Wyden and the others will be speaking out in praise and encouragement of the great voter registration efforts that have been happening in Oregon. Tens of thousands of new voters have registered in the last year; several counties now have an unprecedented Democratic majority of voters and others, including Polk county, have come within a narrow margin of just a few hundred.

Senator Wyden and company will be at the Hatfield Library on the Willamette campus today at 12:30 pm. Democrats and interested supporters are encouraged to attend this event and bring along a friend.

Washington, You're Fired

Thursday, October 9, 2008-7 PM

Grand Theater, 191 High Street NE

Guest Speaker: David Fidanque, Executive Director of American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon

WASHINGTON, YOU'RE FIRED is a chance for every American to play a serious game of political "catch-up" minus the partisan punch lines. This documentary doesn't play party-politics or the blame game. Whether you're a Democrat, Republican, or one of the hundreds of Independent parties out there, we must all come together and understand the fundamental change that has taken place in our very own government.

From the President's illegal NSA spy program and misuse of the FISA court; to wrongful imprisonment, torture and premeditated removal of due process rights -- you will never again look at your elected representatives the same way again.  Washington You’re Fired takes a disturbing look at the last seven years of fundamentally flawed terror-related spy bills; shows you how they collectively and negatively impacted your civil liberties, and what we must all do now to rescue our constitution before it is too late.
