DemoForum with Senator Rick Metsger

The DemoForum is a regular luncheon event featuring a prominent Democratic speaker.  In January, we switched to a twice a month format - on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.   The site is Kwan's Cuisine, at 835 Commercial St. SE, Salem.  The $11 cost includes a buffet lunch, tea, and gratuity. 

Sen. Rick Metsger is one of four candidates for the Democratic nomination for Secretary of State.  Senator Metsger was first elected to the Oregon Senate is 1998, where he represents represents Hood County and portions of Multnomah and Clackamas counties.  He was re-elected in 2002 and 2006.  He lives in Welches.  During the 2007 legislative session, Senator Metsger chaired the Business, Transportation and Workforce Development Committee. 

Metsger is perhaps best known for his 16 years as a television anchorman at KOIN-TV.  He currently owns an issues management firm that provides stretegic communications services. 

The Secretary of State is Oregon's auditor of public accounts, the state's chief elections officer and the chief records officer.  The Secretary of State also keeps a public record of businesses authorized to do business in Oregon.
