DemoForum with John Kroger

The DemoForum is a regular luncheon event featuring a prominent Democratic speaker.   The venue is Kwan's Cuisine, at 835 Commercial St. SE, in Salem.  The $11 cost includes a buffet lunch, tea and gratuity. 

John Kroger is a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Oregon Attorney General.  His opponent in the primary election is State Representative Greg MacPherson.  MacPherson appeared at the February 27 DemoForum.

John Kroger has worked as a criminal prosecutor and a law professor.  He is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School.  As a federal prosecutor, Kroger won major cases against mafia killer Gregory Scarpa Jr., drug kingpin Juan "The Puma" Rodriguez, and other drug traffickers and corrupt government officials.  Krgoer helped prosecute Enron executives.

Kroger first came to Oregon on a cross-country bike trip and later moved here.  Since 2002, he has taught criminal law and legal philosophy at Portland's Lewis & Clark Law School.  Before becoming a prosecutor, Kroger worked as an economic and domestic policy advisor to President Bill Clinton.
