Lloyd Chapman is a candidate for the non-partisan office of Mayor of the City of Salem.  He is challenging the incumbent mayor, Janet Taylor.  Chapman’s web site is http://lloydchapmanformayor.com/ .

Chapman has played an important role in guiding Salem’s public transportation future for the past 9 years.  He is an elected member of the Salem-Keizer Transit Board where he has served since 1999.  He served as chair of that Board from 2002 through 2007.  The board oversees the Cherriots bus system in our community.  In other civic activities, Chapman has participated as a member of the Southeast Salem Neighborhood Association and the Morningside Neighborhood Association.  He has also served on important advisory committees for the City of Salem.

Recently retired, Chapman worked 27 years for the Oregon Land Conservation Development Commission (LCDC) starting as a policy analyst and ending his career as a network computer administrator.

Chapman holds a  Masters of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University and  a Bachelors of Science degree in Political Science from Oregon State University.  He is a graduate of North Eugene High School.

Chapman lives with his wife, Susan Graves, in Southeast Salem. They have a daughter who recently graduated from University of Oregon. They have lived in Salem for 30 years.

The DemForum is a regular luncheon event featuring speeches by by Democratic and progressive officeholders and candidates.  The $11 cost includes a buffet lunch, tea, and gratuity. Reservations are required
