Join us to hear two Democrats, Bob McDonald MD and Steve Frank, who are seeking the Democratic nomination for State Senator in Senate District 9 which encompasses portions of Marion, Linn, and Clackamas Counties.  The district includes a number of smaller communities.  McDonald lives near Silverton.  Steve Frank is a resident of Stayton.  McDonald’s web site is located at http://www.drbobfororegon.com/ and Frank’s is located at http://www.stevefrank08.org/ .

 

Steve Frank
steve FrankSteve Frank was born in Detroit, Michigan.

He moved to Oregon in 1975.  He is a 1978 graduate of Oregon State University with a BS degree in Elementary Education.  After graduation, he taught school for two years and then embarked on a 23 year career with the US Postal Service, from which he retired.  Since his retirement from the Postal Service, Frank has restored his teaching credentials and now does substitute teaching.

Frank was elected in November 2006 to a four-year term on the Stayton City Council.

Steve and his wife, Linda, have an adult daughter, Colleen, and a granddaughter, Adrianna Rose.

Bob McDonald MD
Bob mcDonaldBob McDonald was born in Kansas City, Missouri.

In 1969, he was awarded scholarship for a year's study in Glasgow, Scotland promoting international relations. Later, during undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of California at Irvine, he received a National Science Foundation Scholarship for original research in memory and learning. He then studied in Goettingen, West Germany for two years as a foreign exchange student completing his degree in Biology. Upon returning to the U.S., Bob earned his MD from UCLA.

After completing his residency training in Family Practice at the University of Utah in 1981, Bob moved his family to Oregon, and established his medical practice in Mt. Angel.

McDonald has provided many years of service to the Mt. Angel community as a physician and as a citizen leader and volunteer for various civic organizations.

McDonald is currently a volunteer physician for the uninsured at the Silverton Community Outreach Clinic.

Bob and his wife Cathy have four adult sons, Chris, Ben, Andy, and Julian.  They live near Silverton with their miniature schnauzer Obi.

The DemForum is a regular luncheon event featuring speeches by by Democratic and progressive officeholders and candidates.  When held at Kwan's, the cost is $11.  The $11 cost includes a buffet lunch, tea, and gratuity. Reservations are required
